“33 Saxon Street Flag Project” aims to visibly highlight this site for the surrounding community, to publicly engage. A series of digital illustrations become a fixed Flag Project, acting as placemarks within the streetscape of Brunswick. 33 Saxon Street facilitates community projects, exhibitions, lectures, celebrations, meetings, and workshops. The diversity of programs and initiatives, big and small, experimental and mainstream, diverse and inclusive have directed the public art print designs whilst also responding to the historical use of the grounds as an educational space. “The Flag Project” become a series of playful compositions capturing colours, shapes, illusions to form a constructivist typeface (each flag a letter) representing the site’s address.
